How not to be an entrepreneur..
Having done my undergraduate work at UCLA, I have always jumped at opportunities criticize our crosstown rivals at USC. USC, besides bearing the rich/spoiled kid stigma, has always had the reputation of being more “business-y” and “entrepreneurial” than UCLA. In many cases it is true - for instance, I believe USC has a much stronger and close-knit alumni network and stronger general entrepreneurism among its students than UCLA does. Also USC's got a Center for Technology Commercialization like the one we have down here in San Diego.
Apparently, this entrepreneurial culture has even afflicted the director of students loans at SC. Recently it was revealed that he has been exploiting the system by receiving kickback$ from preferred student loan companies.
Don't get me wrong, I think entrepreneurial spirit is always good to have, no matter what job function you serve, but for some jobs, you need to just do your job.
In an effort for unbiased and balanced blogging, UCLA definitely does not lose to USC in the shady deparment. Remember this debacle?
