Von Liebig Intern Alumni

Posted on June 21st, 2007 in Random Stuff by Warren

I just found out some interesting career facts about the former interns of the von Liebig Center. It looks like I have some big shoes to fill.

1.) McKinsey Consultant

2.) Medical Device Sales

3.) IP Lawyer

4.) Goldman Sachs Analyst

5.) Soon to be millionaire tech guy (IPO)

I think I’m doing a good job here, but it’s a good thing much of the staff is also relatively new to the center to keep those expectations in check. =D

Information Interview

Posted on June 21st, 2007 in Career Development by Warren

Networking has been paying off lately. I’m learning the play the role of ambitious, non-intimidating, vulnerable and mold-able student that successful business people like to be around. After going to a lot of these networking functions you start to get comfortable and things start to happen. I’ve got a couple of informational interviews set up over the next couple weeks. Though I wouldn’t really call them interviews. They’re more  networking, get to know you, career guidance, mentee/mentor type deals.  I think this will help my career. At the very least, I’ll meet some people and practice my professional skills because I need it.  Here’s some stuff to consider for info interviews.
