More Gallup Interview Questions

Posted on November 27th, 2007 in Career by Warren

Continuation of my last post regarding the Gallup Interview Process.

Phone interview lasted 1 hour.

Included questions such as:

Are you an honest person?

Do you do the right thing?

Are you more creative than others?

Do you achieve more than others?

Do you like being busy?

Do you get restless?

Have you acted nice to someone you didn’t like?

Are you nice?

What makes a good manager?

What do you expect of your employer company?

Why do you want to work at a top company?

What are your long term goals?

What’s the difference between team work and results oriented team?

Have you ever discplined someone?

Have you ever asked someone to do something for you?

Do people come to you for advice?

How would you define delegation?

What is good service?

Do you work better as an individual or team member?

Conclusions:

I believe there are a few core attributes they are trying to find in their job candidates. The Gallup poll tries to match personality characteristics of job candidates with those of their best employees. The questions above are designed to probe whether you have those characteristics. It is rather difficult to pretend to have them, so there is only so much you can do to prepare for the interview. BUT if you have to here are a few that you characteristics definitely emphasize and prepare examples for:

Aggressiveness

Competitiveness

Autonomy

Professionalism

Team-work

Amicability

Goal-oriented

Don’t worry about it, it will be over before you know it. If you don’t pass, then you probably wouldn’t be a good fit at the company anyways. Good luck!

If you do get pass the first few rounds of the Gallup, then here is what you should expect at the final on-site interview. Remember there is only so much interview preparation you can do.

Here is another website with some Gallup Interview Questions.
