Career update

I am graduating in December with my master’s degree.  I have been interviewing for full time positions in the life sciences industry. Of the three companies I’ve interviewed with, I’m onto round three for one of them, got denied by one of them, and am waiting to hear back from another.  This process has been pretty fun and has allowed me to get rather comfortable answering weird questions under pressure.

In addition to the job search, I’ve been reaping the benefits of my networking efforts that I began when I first started this blog.  I believe the key for me was getting a highly visible position working with highly entrepreneurial people.  This community is a tight group, and if you do good work from one of them, chances are word will get around about your work. Of late, jobs have been finding me, albeit they are part time consulting gigs.  I’ve always known that I wanted to be self employed and this is my first taste of it. The flexibility and ability to work when I want to is pretty awesome.  Although my goal is to get some corporate branding under my belt, this experience is something I will build upon.
