Morale Boosting and Opportunity Hunting

Everyone needs a boost in confidence and morale every now and then.  Dumblittleman.com is really great for that.

Here is tip number one from one of his most recent entries:

You must create and look for opportunities: Opportunities rarely ever come knocking on the door of someone who’s not seeking them. You have to create and seek opportunities for yourself. You have to take the initiative to get the ball rolling and the doors opening.

This one is really a simple concept that most people fail to grasp.  All you need to do is ask.  I’ve been asking for opportunities, jobs, interviews, introductions, afternoon coffee break meetings and such for the past year and for the most part have been getting rejected or ignored.  But preparation, persistence and a single YES, is all it takes to open the doors.  Finding the 1st opportunity, putting in the time and effort there,  can open the doors to a whole new world of opportunities.
